    Default Buffalo Trace changes

All of the short tees (rubber mats) and their signs have been removed. The reason behind this decision was the rubber mats were slippery when wet and therefore dangerous. Also, the park has a new manager. His name is Bob Burrows.

Will the short pads be replaced with concrete or is it just going to be longs only?

The new fairways are in place and will be used during this years tournament with temp baskets. Permanent tees and baskets should happen some time after the tournament and when we start receiving some funding. The project was put on hold a few months ago due to the management changes the Harrison Co. Parks Dept. went through. As far as short tees on the original course there may be a few of the longer holes we chose to do that with and maybe not the same location as before.

The Buffalo Trace Open will be held on August 17th. Registration should begin by the end of this week.

The course is being maintained by the Chips. We work and play and play and work. There will not be a formal work day, but if you are available and wish to assist us, assignments are being delegated. Please contact Terry Glass or myself. We can both be contacted on this forum.

My contact information: jimmy.reynolds@georgetown.in.gov or 502-376-1645.

Please note that on the course there are several areas that have been cautioned taped off. These areas are not considered to be out-of-bounds, but only no mow zones. We are attempting to assist the park staff in maintaining the course.
