I have taken notice of a lot of player i norm play intermediate, advanced divisions for the past year all of a sudden playing REC. I think the " premium " players pack for JUST the AMs is the cause.

What is the definition by the PDGA of an AM player ? Is it based on rating ? what's the cut off for REC division ?

I'm sorry but thought of good players signing up for REC when they shouldn't be just for a players pack makes me sick.

Am is a player who has never accepted cash. REC is 900 cut off. Pretty sure all ams get same players pack. People play rating in larger tournaments because of more competition and nobody like to have to play really well to get something. Hope this answers you questions

The players pack is given to all ams I am pretty sure so that would not make them change divisions. They probably play down because it is an a-tier so they expect the competition to be higher. Also, the PDGA says the cutoff for playing divisions is rec must be under 900, int must be under 935 and adv must be under 970 and not accepted cash. As long as they fit into this they are perfectly legal in playing in that division.

Edit: Will beat me by a minute.

OK i can understand playing down a division in a big A tier tournament at non local courses BUT at your local back yard courses. Not afraid of the challenge or more players or better players. I like that makes me step up my game.

    thanks for clearing things up

Depends on their division. Pro and Adv women will be in Pool A, Rec and Int women will be in pool B.
