I'd go for something slower, like a TeeBird until you have the technique to throw the ultra fast drivers as they need to be thrown. Remember that until recently, the record D was set with a TeeBird (and is still held with a Valkyrie, I believe). It will help your technique in the long run. Trust me.

My putter still doinks harder than yours!
Ummm i can handle a fast disc.

star - the pro will beat in really quick
we were talking about high speed drivers on another thread - I think some high speed discs are easier to throw like the vulcan, wahoo, archon, or possibly even the new teedevil
You might want to consider lighter weights sub 170 grams - get more distance out of the high speed discs
If you want drivers you can really get something out of - I would pick teebirds, leopards, archon, valkyrie - something with control and speed - By the summer you will be amazed how far they fly with how little effort compared to fighting the big mean discs on the market that call themselves distance discs

Teedevil is akin to a less stable Destroyer. Sammy threw mine and liked it and he doesn't have tremendous arm speed. Its one of those discs that could potentially fill a niche in your bag.
All I need is some tasty waves and a cool buzz and I'm all right.
I backhand as a hobby, I putt to pay the bills.
Good input

Everybody wants the newest, fastest discs. The only high speed driver that a shorter arm needs is the Valkyrie.
The Valkyrie, along with the Leopard, are probably the two most versatile, true discs ever made.
Vulcans are garbage... way too touchy. Sure, you can crush it, but they are so easy to over torque.
VAL-KY-REEEEEE!!!!!!
Mike, I have two or three Vulcans I will sell you. Different weights, even.
