I'd go for something slower, like a TeeBird until you have the technique to throw the ultra fast drivers as they need to be thrown. Remember that until recently, the record D was set with a TeeBird (and is still held with a Valkyrie, I believe). It will help your technique in the long run. Trust me.

My putter still doinks harder than yours!
Ummm i can handle a fast disc.

Not necessarily. I can't throw anywhere near 400 feet, but I can throw a Boss and a Vulcan both a hell of a lot better than I can throw a Valkyrie.
I have learned, for me, anyway, the Vulcan has to be thrown in the right wind conditions. I have to have either no wind or a slight tailwind and it will sail really well for me. The good thing about throwing a Vulcan is you can't overthrow it or it screws up---you have to make a nice, easy release or it seems to try to flop over and roll.

star - the pro will beat in really quick
we were talking about high speed drivers on another thread - I think some high speed discs are easier to throw like the vulcan, wahoo, archon, or possibly even the new teedevil
You might want to consider lighter weights sub 170 grams - get more distance out of the high speed discs
If you want drivers you can really get something out of - I would pick teebirds, leopards, archon, valkyrie - something with control and speed - By the summer you will be amazed how far they fly with how little effort compared to fighting the big mean discs on the market that call themselves distance discs

Teedevil is akin to a less stable Destroyer. Sammy threw mine and liked it and he doesn't have tremendous arm speed. Its one of those discs that could potentially fill a niche in your bag.
All I need is some tasty waves and a cool buzz and I'm all right.
I backhand as a hobby, I putt to pay the bills.
Good input
