If I was you I would encourage the members of the league to play the tourney and find a way to incorporate the tourny results into your league.

I ensure you that it's NOT a HUGE problem. I used to run Thursday Night Leagues (that averaged 15-35 people) and Saturday morning "Breakfast Club" leagues for YEARS. A few times I worked the Saturday league into a tourny that got planned over top of my leagues.

When you blanket a day and say "every x-day we're having an event" it's going to eventually be over-written. Communication is key.

Why would you not see that more tournaments are a good thing? Leagues are important to the game to keep players sharp and introduce new people to the game. But I am pretty sure that if someone wanted to have a tournament on a wednesday at IQ James would be the first person to sign-up.

I didn't post it here BUT did in the event post. I do support any form of disc golf tournament, leagues & so on. Just bummed out Damon didn't put into count of our league date / contact me to figure something out.

Spoke with the Larry CAVE MAN today & it's confirmed the total ACE POOL up for grabs this SUNDAY @ O.C. will be $200.oo

My brother and I are new the disc golf and was wondering how the tournies work? Do i just show up and pay $6 dollars to play...or whatever the fee is? Also...what is the $1 ace fee and how does it work? Very interested in how it all works. How do the double work as well? Could we be on the same team?

For league play just show up and pay. Most are best shot pro/am random draw doubles depending on who shows up. If no advanced/pro players show up it is possible for two ams to be teamed up. The ace pool is optional and rolls over as long as nobody hits an ace. If you enter and get an ace that night you get the money in the pool. Tournys are normally done by sign ups and cost more.


Example of best shot doubles format:

Me and you are on a team. We both tee off and you land clean while I shank it into the rough. Since I am in the rough we use your tee shot for our first throw. We both throw a second shot and do the same. We do so until one of us holes out and you only count the throws you use.
