    Default Otter Creek Update

I've asked the powers that be at this point, what is the likelihood of the course being reinstalled. They've answered that "while these items still must go before a committee it is very likely the course will be reinstalled."

The majority of people I've spoken with have pleaded for the original course to be reinstalled so that is what I've pushed for. I was able to walk through the course a few weeks ago and it is demolished. The ice storm was NOT nice to the course. The locals here are chomping at the bit to get back in there to work along with members of surrounding clubs. I'm confident that the course will be playable within weeks of getting the okay to start working.

I've already spoke with KFW about having sanctioned events at OC too. Within a month or so of the course opening I plan to have a tourney there to show them a disc golf presence at OC. They’re very excited about this as it will bring them more revenue.

Thanx for all the support you’ve given. Because of YOU it looks as if we will be able to enjoy our classic course once again.

I just received an email from the new manager at OC. He stated that they are currently working on cleaning up the campgrounds. Their next priority will be the DGC. I've asked him when he foresees volunteers getting in there to work and I'm awaiting that answer. I've let him know that we (the disc golf community as a WHOLE) are excited to help and have years of experience volunteering with parks systems. I'm awaiting his reply and will keep you guys updated.

Sweet! I'm excited about playing Otter Creek since I've never played it before.

Is there any kind of idea on what the admission price will be when the park re-opens?

From what I recall in the survey, my guess would be $5-$10 per visit or $50-$100 per year. That's complete speculation though.

Just spoke with them again today. They're trying to locate the baskets. Once they find them they're wanting to install them ASAP. I'm not quite sure why they want to install the baskets before cleaning up the course but...they are. Nevertheless, disc golf will be back at the OC. Woo hoo!

thats great - i see a giant turnout for the course reopening

what about a AM day and a PRO day - we could make space for 144 - 180 golfers

im sure it could be huge - advertise the fact golfers could come and play the oldest course in the state + there are more golfers in the region today then ever before

Awesome, looking forward to seeing the course again.
All I need is some tasty waves and a cool buzz and I'm all right.

I backhand as a hobby, I putt to pay the bills.
