    Default CVO Fundrasing [2010]

Charlie Vettiner is FAST approaching. I’m thinking of a few things we need to do to make this event a success.

    A Tournament Web Page
I think it would be good if on this site there was a web page devoted to the tournament. It would have all the tournament details, links to discussion, a link to pre-reg, etc.

    Fundraising, Fundraising, Fundraising
We have to get VERY SERIOUS about raising funds for this event. Adam and I have been selling CFR plastic and working on trying to get a title sponsor, there is a fundraising X-tier in the works, and miscellaneous hole sponsors have been pledged but we need a surge of fund raising efforts. I have a letter typed up that you can hand to (or use as a reference when talking to) potential sponsors. I will gladly give it to you upon request.

This event is something we should all be very excited about. This will be the fourth year of this event and it’s done nothing but get bigger year after year. Let’s continue that tradition and maybe, some year, we’ll have an NT right here in our backyard. To make that happen will require us all to work hard. Please show me that you’re interested in this event by helping to do something now.

    Sponsorship Options

    Caddy Book Hole Sponsors ($100)
Your company will be prominently displayed:
In our caddy book on the page that contains the hole you sponsor and in the “thank you’s”.
A large sign on near the tee sign of the hole that’s sponsored.
Mention during all player’s meetings and award ceremonies.
    Mention on our website.

    Caddy Book Page Sponsors ($250)
Your company will be prominently displayed:
In our caddy book on a full color page and in the “thank you’s”.
Two large signs displayed in high traffic areas on the course.
Mention during all player’s meetings and award ceremonies.
    Mention on our website.

    Tournament Contributing Sponsor ($500-$1000)
Your company will receive first priority on advertisement.
Two large signs/banners (your company provides) displayed in high traffic areas on the course.
Mention during all player’s meetings and award ceremonies.
    Mention on our website.

    Title Sponsor ($1500+)
The event’s name will be “Your Company Name’s Charlie Vettner Open” and advertised on the PDGA website and ours.
Your company will receive the HIGHEST priority on advertisement.
Two large signs/banners (your company provides) displayed in high traffic areas on the course.
Mention during all player’s meetings and award ceremonies.
We will work to provide your company with any accommodations you may require.

What do you ask for from businesses? Anything they can spare? Donations? Just curious, as I have no idea what kind of businesses (beyond restaurants and bars) would be interested...

I updated the first post with some sponsorship options.

Basically, if someone gives us money we'll find a way to make them happy.

The first person to bring me $600 of sponsorship money plays the CVO for free.

Is there a "tourney hotel" for this event? And is it CV/Fun Farm, or just CV? I know some people in hotels here near CV that I can talk to...

I do NOT have a host hotel yet. As of right now I'm leaning the hardest toward CV/FF again this year. I'll make a decision by the end of this week.

No fun farm. Buffalo Trace would be a better option but keeping it in the great state of Kentucky should be paramount.
    Thanks to my sponsor
