The new iq is still a superclass course
So is radcliff and meade olin
It was mentioned about paying to play - paying for disc golf is the future of the sport - land isn't free - disc golfers have been getting free disc golf in the area for a long time
Maybe there will be an inexpensive yearlong membership
Lots of courses around the country generally charge a few dollars for an entry fee
I once paid $60 for a 3-month membership at a course in Montana

I have no problem paying an admission fee. If ya can't afford a couple bucks well...
Thanks to my sponsor

Yes, there WILL be an admission fee to the park that you will have to pay to get to the DGC. I haven't heard word on an ammount but there will be a cost to get in. When talking to KFW I've recomended that there also be a price for a season pass and they liked that idea.

I agree with Martin, pay-to-play courses are on the rise and are almost necessary for certain courses to stay taken care of and the parks to operate. Memberships would be nice but we'll have to see how it pans out. Disc golfers in this part of the country have been spoiled in a way with free courses whereas in northern states (MN, WI, MI...) most of the courses cost a few bucks to play.
All I need is some tasty waves and a cool buzz and I'm all right.
I backhand as a hobby, I putt to pay the bills.
I can see the point of pay-to-play courses, but only if this money goes to the upkeep of the course. If you have to pay to play and also pay (out of your or the club's monies) to keep the course up, what's the point?

My putter still doinks harder than yours!
the old course is the only way to go. it has history.... make no since to mess that up. plus it is a course for anyone to play good or bad. this is a great course for new players and without them this game will stop growing. dont ever forget that.
Just spoke with KFW earlier this afternoon. We're going on a walk through of the park/course later this week. We discussed the disc golf events that had been held at Otter Creek in the past and the average number of players that would attend those events. I told him that the Fall Disc Golf Open had been held for 28 years at OCP. The FATPAD, Ice Bowls, and leagues were also discussed.
They said that they wanted to meet to talk about the "little things". They want to get down to even the smallest of details in order to make the course appealing to players. This will be an opportunity to improve upon what we had before. I briefly mentioned adding more holes and they did not abandon that option.
They mentioned, again, that there would be a survey avalible for players to participate in. No word on when this survey will be avalible.
