I can't seem to find the schedule for tournament play.
When and where do divisions play?
Is it only three rounds total?
    Thanks

The Lexington Open is a two day event with 4 rounds on 3 courses. It will use Shillito and Veterans Parks in Lexington, as well as Riney B Park in Nicholasville (about a 10 minute drive south from Lexington).

Shillito is a picturesque city park course. Mostly open with many mature trees, it has a front 9 that yields a ton of birdies, and a more challenging back 9. Last year, the Novice, Recreational and Intermediate divisions played this course twice. It is a great course for the lower levels while also being a fun, scoring course for the Advanced and Professional divisions.

Veterans Park is a great complement to Shillito. It is heavily wooded and very technical. Birdie chances abound, as it is not extremely long. But if you miss your line, that birdie could easily turn into a bogey or worse. A large creek is in play on a number of holes, and it has a history of swallowing discs (at least temporarily). Last year the Advanced group played this challenging course twice.

Riney B, the newest of the 3 courses, is somewhat of a cross between them. It has a wide variety of holes, with about half in the woods and half out in the open. However, it has greater length than either Shillito or Veterans. Although the course has 24 holes, only 18 of them will be used for the tournament. With its length and difficulty, this course was played twice last year by the pros.

With each division playing all 3 courses, all of which are very different types of course, the Lexington Open tends to sort out who the best golfers are in each division.

I assumed that Lyle was saying we were going to be playing all three courses...one of them twice...just like last year.

I don't see a player's meeting or tee off time anywhere though. Help us out Lyle.

Lyle told me "At this point the Rec men will be starting at Shillito. Regardless of where anyone starts, Player Check-in and the Player's Meeting will be held at Shillito Park on Saturday morning".

Also, Ill be driving there and back each day, If anyone wants a ride I can seat 3 additional persons comfortably. PM me or leave a post here if interested.

Just a reminder that since this year's tournament is a PDGA B Tier event for Intermediate and below, anyone can participate, even if you are not a PDGA member. If you are not a member, you will simply need to pay the $10 non-PDGA fee. This fee also applies to all non-active PDGA members. So if you have not yet renewed your PDGA membership, you will have to pay the $10 fee.

(If you desire to play pro or advanced, you must be an active PDGA member since the Lexington Open is a SuperTour event for those divisions.)

Applebee's in Nicholasville, one of our generous sponsors, is offering all Lexington Open participants 10% off their meals all weekend long. Applebee's is practically across the street from Riney B Park, so stop by sometime while you're in town.

Look for your red, 10% off coupon in your Player's Packs and support our sponsors!
