The Lexington Open XI is a qualifier for the 2009 USADGC. The top 15% of the Advanced division will automatically qualify for this other great event. Check it out at http://www.amnationals.com.

During the tournament's first round, every player will be eligible to compete in and win 4 different Closest-To-the-Pin (CTP) competitions on 4 different holes. These holes will be chosen so that everyone who is eligible for that particular CTP actually has a reasonable chance of winning it. In other words, these CTPs will not be on long, bomber holes that eliminate half of the field before the competition even begins (sorry big arms).
The prizes for these CTPs are unbelievable this year. They range from your typical disc golf swag and discs, to free entries to future tournaments to the two grand prizes: a free night's stay in a luxury king Jacuzzi suite. That might make the wife (or husband) forgive you for blowing an entire weekend playing that silly disc golf game.
To get in on these awesome prizes, just register today at http://www.pdgasignup.com or at http://www.njcpr.org

After all the fun and festivities of the tournament are over and while you are waiting to see if you will need a bigger vehicle in which to take home all of your winnings, you can participate in a few fun disc golf activities at James Lane Allen (JLA)Elementary School, site of our awards ceremony and of an EDGE disc golf course.
First, if there are any playoffs for any divisions, you can watch as those ties are broken on a safari course at JLA. Last year Lee Stephens outlasted Chuck Ridgeway in a playoff for the Recreational championship.
Second, you can participate in a free Ring of Fire, chock full of all kinds of great disc golf swag. Last year, someone took home a practice basket, along with lots of other good stuff.
Third, you can participate in a CTP throw off for a disc golf practice basket. The cost for the throw off is only $1 per throw, or $5 for 6 throws.
All of these should keep you entertained while you patiently wait the short time for us to count cards and get everyone paid out.

Thanks to Peter Shive and the Senior Foundation, the Lexington Open was again awarded a Senior Grant this year. What that means is that over and above the minimum of $1,000 cash being added to the non-Open Pro divisions (combined), we will be offering $250 additional added cash to the professional age-protected divisions*.
This is even more incentive for all of you Pro Masters, Grandmasters, Senior Grandmasters, and Legends to come and play this event. You will be sharing a minimum of $1,250 cash added.
Lyle
* There must be at least 2 people in a division in order for the Senior Grant to be used in that division. However, that division, if offered, would still be eligible for the $1,000 cash added from other sponsors.

In addition to the sweet Player's Packs and all the cash and merchandise added for all the divisions, there is also the Ace Pool.
The Ace Pool costs $5 to get into and is good for the entire tournament. That gives you 72 chances to hit one, and at least 7 of those holes are under 200 feet.
Last year, 102 people (out of the 141 playing) got into the Ace Pool, making it worth over $500. Only 4 people hit aces, and 1 of them unfortunately wasn't in the Ace Pool. That left our 3 winners with $170 each. Needless to say, their tournaments finished up pretty well, and that was before cashing.
With more people playing this year, the Ace Pool pot should be even higher. Come and see if you can hit one. Sign up today.
