I like it the way it is. It is just like having a sand trap to the left and right of the hole. It adds a little "spice"to the hole.

I'm kinda 50/50 on this one. I see how you could see it that way but I see it as a big risk reward. If you go for the gap you could go 2/4, if you don't go for the gap you can take an EASY 3/4. I see a risk reward element more so than the punishment of a good shot.

Look at Idlewild. There are a LOT of shots where if you land 30 feet from the basket your O.B. but 50-80 feet would have been safe. It's risk reward.

I don't like it. Never have. I think it hurts good shots and let's the bad
ones get an easy three. I purposely throw a shot that will hyzer so I
can lay up for the three. Why go for it? Half my good shots land in the
OB.

If we move the OB further to the left doesn't it DOUBLY punish the bad shot though?

isnt that the idea of a bad shot . its a bad shot becuase you hyzered out early. dave has made lots of holes if you go early your ob, not i threw a good shot within 35 of basket but ob. but the bad shot that faged out is safe.i dont think its fair the whole ditch should be ob its only fair. its not a sandtrap its a ditch every other ditch there that is ob its the whole ditch not just part.

I think it would be fair to have the entire ditch OB. I think it's a good idea. But...I like it either way.

The hole is fine without ob really. If the whole ditch is ob it
remains a lucky whole. If the whole ditch was ob
it would almost make it a par 4 because most people would
lay up before the ditch and play it for a 3.

I never really understood that ob. I just think it's another one
of those things that was decided on and no one will ever be
able to change it.

i never understood why just a part of it is ob. makes it cheesy. either make it all ob or not, not just some of it.

Where would the OB stop? Should it be OB on #3 and #5?
