Shoes?
So the tournament at SL yesterday taught me that my shoes are completely inadequate for 36 holes on that type of elevation. I have some work boots that are actually great, but they're for the winter, so as the weather gets warmer it will kill me to wear them.
What types of shoes do you guys wear? I was thinking maybe tennis (the actual sport, not the generic term) shoes or hiking shoes? Trail runners? Obviously I have no idea... recommendations? Water proof/resistant would be nice, but isn't 100% required.

KEEN, water proof, light weight & great feeling

Keen shoes are excellent you can get them @ dicks sporting goods or go to keen.com. i know a lot of locals use these and I have 2 pair they are comfortable and i didnt get wet feet yesterday.

Check out Swags on Newcut Rd near Iroquois. I bought my Moab Ventilators there and was very impressed with the service there. They carry multiple brands there as well. They have a water resistant (nothing is waterproof) version as well but I need breathable shoes. I was wearing them yesterday with a pair of wicking socks anddried out during the round. On really wet days I pair them with Sealskinz socks that I got from Quest Outdoors.

My only concern w/ running shoes is that they tend to have very little lateral stability (unless you mean some sort of trail-running shoe?) As always, thanks for the advice everyone!

Alot of people like trail runner's, hiking shoes, and even skate shoes.

Yes I meant trail running shoes

If you throw sidearm you'll want something with a thick rubber toe because you'll drag it across the pad and wear it out.

That's one of the reasons I was thinking of tennis shoes as well, they have a reinforced toe because tennis serves are supposed to drag the toe as well. I don't think there are water resistant options though since tennis can't be played in the rain.
