Do you support redesigning the course in Georgetown?
We're starting a petition to see if there's interest from the disc golf community to implement the attached course design. It is about 6000 ft. long, takes full advantage of the elevation changes (which are drastic in the park) and is a challenging and fun layout.
If you've played Garry Cavan Park in Georgetown, IN, please take a look at our proposed layout and sign the petition in the link below if you agree with it. Thanks for your support.

Re: Do you support redesigning the course in Georgetown?
I have never played there but it looks like you could better utilize the parking and other covered picnic areas by turning 11 into 1 and just playing in that order the rest of the way around where 10 would be 18. 18 would be short and less dramatic but hole 1 would be a great long starting hole. Not for sure what type of parking is to the left of the trees.
Re: Do you support redesigning the course in Georgetown?
I have never played this course. All players are saying it's just not
that strong. Adam are resourceful and I am positive your redesign will
be a better fit for that course.
Re: Do you support redesigning the course in Georgetown?
its been changed recentaly from what it was .on your new layout ,how much does the playground come into play on ten? dont want to hit any kids
Re: Do you support redesigning the course in Georgetown?
I appreciate the suggestion Jason, but I've seen that shelter used fairly frequently when I've been there.
Re: Do you support redesigning the course in Georgetown?
Hey Mick, you're right about the existing layout being altered some recently. It is better than it was, however, I'm not sure if the existing layout could be altered enough to be better than the proposed layout.
There is one hole that looks pretty close to the playground on the map but you'd need a really awful toss to get it over there. Additionally, the tee pad will be placed so a tree is near the front right corner of the pad. That should help keep bad tosses away from the kids.
Re: Do you support redesigning the course in Georgetown?
I have not played the existing course. Looking at the maps and listening to what people have said, I do believe the proposed layout is better. Will this petition be posted on the PDGA or other area message boards as well?

I understand what you're saying, but I really think the petition will have more of an impact on the parks dept. if all the signatures are from local players; quality over quantity.
Re: Do you support redesigning the course in Georgetown?
Be sure to take the time to sign this. If you want another quality course in the area this is your chance to encourage the parks department to make it happen. If they see that this would bring more traffic to their course and possibly even events that should encourage them to make the change.
Re: Do you support redesigning the course in Georgetown?
The petition is off to a great start, over 20 signatures in just over 24 hours!
Keep it up, I can't wait to go to parks dept and show them a big list of local golfers who support this redesign and would come play the course more often because of it.
Thanks for the support and please spread the word, this can't happen without your help.
