Bed Liner Spray
Has anyone ever used the spray on bed liner that you can buy in a can at Wal-Mart? I bought some and I am attempting to spray the bottom of my disc bag. It had a rip in it and I tried to sew it a couple of times. Instead of trashing it, waiting for it to totally rip, or allow some poisonous bug to get into it and bite me or my son later I decided to try to imitate the Phenix bag. I'll let you all know the outcome.

sounds like it could be a great idea. Probably super sticky and messy too. Don't get it on any discs

Re: Bed Liner Spray
Update: I ended up using 1 whole can of spray to do my bag at just the bottom like the phenix bag. After letting it sit for 48 hours it seems pretty rigid like the phenix bag. Of course I got some overspray in areas that I missed when masking off but otherwise it looks decent too. Next test is on the course and I will see if the liner rubs or picks at my shirt weird because it seems to be a little rough to the touch.

Re: Bed Liner Spray
Cool idea. I'm curious to hear how it turns out. Ever the critic that I am, I'd be worried like you said that it would catch on my shirt and tear/scar it. I wonder if it would be feasible to leave a 1/2 inch lip around the bottom to try to prevent it from hitting your clothing? But that might defeat the purpose, as I'd guess that the edge is the part of the bag most likely to rip.
Let us know how it works out.

Re: Bed Liner Spray
I played 15 holes at Freeman lake today. No discernable picks in the shirt. No visible scuffs that I can see in the shirt either. I was wearing a 100% polyester dry-fit shirt and I thought if anything would get some sort of damage it would be that shirt.
The spray comes up 1" all the way around the bag by the way so it has a lot of potential to catch on the shirt.
Not bad for $7. It took a whole can to do a bag in about 5 to 6 light layers. You don't want to coat it on thick in one layer.
Good luck to anyone that tries it. Remember to mask of the areas you don't want sprayed. :D
