Update (April 9th 2008)

Eddie talked with the head of the parks department in Brandenburg about some of our ideas for the course. They agreed to replace all the tee signs and baskets that are damaged and plan to do it QUICKLY. They immediately submitted a purchase order request. They okayed the use of sand traps where ever we please. They’ve given us permission to use the land behind hole #5’s basket and #6’s tee pad for at a minimum of the next 10 to 15 years. There are already a few tee pads back there from the old course so we hope to reuse those.

They’re working HARD on getting the park cleaned up. They’ve started with the baseball fields and basket ball and tennis courts and will begin working on the course soon. The ONLY request they had from us (disc golfers) is that we attempt to raise some money to buy some trees and then help plant the trees around the parameter of the park and on the course. We need to make a good showing for this when the time comes.

So does that mean that the baskets that were damaged before are going to be replaced too?

what is going on down there have holes been moved? or not replaced yet i couldnt find two baskets just curious to what was going on. i'd love to see some changes done and bring the course back toghter. let me know if i can help later

I know there have been several questions about Meade/Olin so I thought I’d give an update. There are currently only 16 baskets there due to baskets missing on #5 and #13. Below is a list of changes we are still in the progress of negotiating. I’ve been out there just about every day laying holes. Eddie, Brad, and Butch are also looking at the course. A collaboration of our ideas will be the final design.

Hole #3 ~ Add Sand Traps in Front and to the Left of Pin/Gravel Road O.B.
Hole #5 ~ Install New Basket and ADD O.B. Line Long of Pin

Hole #7 ~ New Pin Placement
Hole #13 ~ Install New Basket/New Pin Placement
Hole #15 ~ Install New Basket for Permanent Alt. Pin Placement Long and to the Left of Original
Hole #16 ~ New Tee Pad and Pin Placement
Hole #17 ~ New Tee Pad/Add Sand Traps (Old Tee Placement Remains)

what about the land behind 5 and 6 can we put a basket and a tee back there and make them par 4s :Please: :Please: . i love two good shots then putt

We haven’t talked much about that yet. We want to get the course back in operation first then we’ll start back there. I’ve laid out a few holes back there but nothing is in stone yet.

As far as par fours go; the new placement on #1 will be a three and a half to four. #10 is STILL a par four. #15 (IF we go with my proposed pin position) will be a par four.
