Thanks to Jason Woogs, Kyle Lynch, Mark Wampler, and Dave Greenwell - we worked at Charlie Vettiner yesterday morning and laid down rock on hole 12
the plan from metro parks will be to cover this rock in mulch
we will be doing this elsewhere on the course as well
Next week is the Mayors Give A Day Volunteer Week
Work Days scheduled so far - more rock drops, mulching, stair repair on 14, and debris removal around the course
Monday 9am - 12pm (maybe some more work after lunch)
Tuesday 2pm - 6pm (after the work day is the first Charlie Vettiner Singles Rated Round League)
Wednesday 4pm - 8pm (i realize this is during wed IQ leagues but we needed to schedule an evening work day)
Thursday/Friday - to be announced - work pending...

Everyone please try and come help at some point - be it 1 work day, 1 hour on 1 work day, anything
All work must be done during the work days and a form must be signed by volunteers as we are tracking hours as well for Metro
Items to bring: Wheelbarrow, Shovel, Rake, Gloves, - any suggestions let me know

Hole 12 looks great
So far Monday is the only day I can make it. I might be able to do Thursday if it's earlier in the day. Let's make this happen guys and maybe we will be rewarded with a new course in the future.

Looking like a rainy afternoon, so the bulk of the work might be done in the morning, we will see what mother nature has in store

I just got this letter today from Metro Parks
"On behalf of the employees of Metro Parks and the residents of Louisville Metro, we would like to offer our gratitude to you and Louisville Disc Golf for your generous gift of service on 4/16-4/20/2012. Charlie Vettiner Disc Golf Course and local population have benefited greatly from your service, value at an estimated $2200.
Your service is a model to schools, businesses, and organizations throughout the community. Beyond the visible benefits, events like this have a ripple effect as well, with both volunteers and park users taking away a renewed sense of community pride and engagement.
Please share this gratitude with everyone at your organization who made this wonderful project possible. We deeply value our partnership and look forward to working again with you in the future.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Heitz, AIA
Director
Andrew Brooks
Volunteer Coordinator"
