The Louisville Club is going to begin to integrate Singles into our monthly weekly league schedule on Tuesdays at Charlie Vettiner and Thursdays at Seviren Lang.

The Singles nights will alternate from one week to the next. Playing a singles round PDGA members will have the opportunity to record a rated round - and non-PDGA members can still play without any non-member fees. This is a great opportunity to get in singles tourney practice, get additional rated rounds on your home courses, and get more benefits from your PDGA membership. This first spring season will last 8 weeks. A summer season will begin afterward with its schedule pending.

The Schedule will be:

Thurs, Apr 12 - Seviren Lang
Tues, Apr 17 - Charlie Vettiner
Thurs, Apr 26 - Seviren Lang
Tues, May 1 - Charlie Vettiner
Thurs, May 10 - Seviren Lang
Tues, May 15 - Charlie Vettiner
Thurs, May 24 - Seviren Lang
Tues, May 29 - Charlie Vettiner

The format will be:

A Pool: $6 - $5 cash payout, $1 (LDGC/PDGA)
B Pool: $6 - $5 prize payout, $1 (LDGC/PDGA)
C Pool: $2 - no payout - $2 (LDGC/PDGA)

Pending turnouts for these leagues is possible there could even be additional Pools generated. Women playing can also play in their own pool or are welcome to beat up on a few of the guys.

The PDGA will not be recording any cash payouts so Amateur players should have no worries about accepting $$ and losing their amateur status. Prize money won can be paid out the day of or acculmulated to bigger and better prizes as the season goes along.

*During the doubles leagues - Players will have to option upon signing up if upon winning that evening if they would like to be paid cash or prizes.

I was happy to see the PDGA institute this and am even more so to see the LDGC getting on this bandwagon. It's just a really cool idea. Good for you all! Awesome.

I don't like the concept as it only furthers the illusion that ratings mean something. But I do like disc golf so I will be there.

But hopefully what it will do, with an increase of rated rounds, is give a more accurate representation of where a player should be competing.

Not really these are courses you play often and shots are taken because of previous shots when you play a new course where you haven't thrown it a thousand times then you really get an accurate feel of a players standings.

I agree with James.
(Lol. As I write this he sends me a Facebook request for games. Haha)

It is a cool idea and I hope the PDGA grows from this.
