Massachusetts disc golf week has begun.
Storm fallout has caused power outages everywhere (luckily not at our hotel) - the northern two major east/west interstates were both shut down due to flooding - good the hurricane already passed through the region
Scott Rief, Sam Shaheen, and I are ready to take on the Maple Hill Course.
Practice rounds begin today....let you all know how day 1 goes

alright this course is phenomenal
the course is huge - one hole after another - getting a 3 feels very good
you all have to check this course out or watch it on discgolfplanet.tv it is unbelievable
i could try and describe it all but its far to immense
6 holes over water - hole 16 is 400 just to clear the pond - 5 is a crazy turnover through the trees over the water
hole 1 is a 700+ feet over a pond and christmas trees and into a protected ob stone wall island green
a few discs got wet, one disc may have been left somewhere in new york, and one got found after a little pond diving
disc golf is amazing up here - the course has 4 layouts - red, blue, white, and gold - flags to mark pads and baskets
so lets play a little game here on the website _name the winner of the tourney this weekend and you get a disc from the Vibram Open_

okay - good guesses _ ill pick up a disc unique to this place _
im picking nikko as a favorite right now kid might be able to shoot in the 40's - im gonna be happy just to break 60 - qualifying minimum score today were 70 or less
course continues to play as one of the toughest courses i have ever played -
less lost discs today and more recovered - good times
got to watch 6 hole match play rounds betweens the sports best - within 18 holes $4000 in prize money was paid out _ winners were nikko over doss and bennett over shusterick
tee times tomorrow sam 9:50, martin 11:40, scott 12:10
check out www.maplehillopen.com
shawn _ i picked shusterick already so less you want to split a disc you might want to get someone else
bub _ thanks, ill win a disc for you
interesting fact: Dutch Napier was chosen as one of two dark horses to place high in the tourney by Steve Dodge - we wish him luck -
dutch, bennett, myself, and another guy tee off together tomorrow just behind the first of the two super groups, we start hitting aces maybe the cameras will focus on us

I say Anthon. Why not?
He's got an NT win now. Monkey is off his back.
Live coverage starts at 11:30 on discgolfplanet.tv when Dave Feldberg, Nate Doss, Paul Ulibarri and Will Schusterick tee off and the camera's will follow their round. Martin and Dutch will be one hole behind them so I bet we'll catch some glimpses of them throughout the day.
Good luck guys!
There's Martin wearing his black LDGC shirt and Dutch waiting to tee off.

Wow!
Another disc golf adventure in the books. I of course did
not play up to my potential. Very challenging course. Imagine
Idlewild with even bigger holes and tons of water. 900 golf for me
is just going to be how it is right now in my life.
Steve Dodge is a great host. Beautiful farm that they live on. Fun
to meet lots of New England golfers. They actually play year round. I don't
know how but they do it.
Congrats to Martin for representing the Ville. I am glad he "made the cut
and got paid"
See you on the course.
