Can you play in a tournament and NOT attach your PDGA number to it, in order to play a lower division? Is this commonplace?

I don't think the guys without numbers listed have numbers

Once you have a # you always have to play it

The round itself is rated, but that isn't necessarily your rating overall. The overall rating is what classifies your division. Those guys we were paired with the first round aren't PDGA members--at least one of them for that very reason; he said "I don't need to join. That way I can play anywhere I want."

With that being said, let me take this time to tell everyone in the LDGC (and all the All-Stars' guys I've been grouped with as well,) how much I appreciate you guys. Even when I haven't played well I've always enjoyed the guys on my card before. It's a real downer to have to play a round (much less, both rounds,) with somebody who's a, well, you fill in the blank and I think you'll figure it out.
