March 12th at Seviren Lang DGC.

Registration from 7:30 - 8:30. Players meeting at 8:45.

This is a sanctioned, XC-tier tournament.

Everyone will play two rated rounds of golf and receive a 2011 CVO stamped CFR disc of their choosing as a players pack. Since this is a fundraiser, there will be no payout for the winners. All proceeds from this event will go towards the 2011 Charlie Vettiner Open.

The cost is $25 regardless of your division. A $1 ace pool is included in the price. If an ace is not hit, the money goes toward the CVO.

This is a great opportunity to support the biggest disc golf tournament in the area, the Charlie Vettiner Open, while also playing two rated rounds and getting a tournament stamped CFR disc!

***UPDATE***
Open division has the opportunity to pay $50 and win some money!
$50 ($25 fundraiser - $25 towards Cash Payout) - all open players will still get a CFR disc

Great idea! Wish I could join in. The one price fits all mentality is a good one...

We figured since there aren't payouts, the one price for all makes sense.

We tried to keep it affordable enough ($25 is normal Rec division price) to appeal to lots of people, cover PDGA and disc costs while still raising some money for the CVO. Being able to pick your players pack CFR disc sounded like a cool idea too. It's not I've seen that often and we're going to have 8-10 different CFR molds to choose from!

BTW, I hope you get feeling better so you can get out golfing soon.

We're going to be ordering CFR discs for this tournament in a couple weeks. That means there's still time to vote on the CFR discs you want. There are two polls, vote for as many discs as you'd like in each.

Poll #1 (http://louisvillediscgolf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4459)
Poll #2 (http://louisvillediscgolf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4460)

I forgot to look when I was there today----do you have this printed out as a flier and posted on the board at Seviren Lang?

Adam

Yes, the flyer is posted at Seviren and I believe there's one at IQ and CV also.

Start packing the car! Unless there's a last minute voting frenzy, it looks like we're going to have these 8 discs available:

CFR Sidewinders
Glo KC Aviars
CFR Destroyers
CFR Firebirds
CFR Bosses
CFR Wraiths
CFR Leopards
Ch. Makos

Also, will there be additional discs for sell? AND, any of Louisvillers interested in one of our BEAUTIFUL AEDGC bag tags???

Beer or pizza?!?!

The pizza! I went to USI and lived in Evansville about 3 years afterward, as well, and that's one of the things I miss most (although I was down there a year ago and went to Turoni's. I need some Deerhead now---and GD Ritzy's!)

Their pizza is the best thin crust in town, for sure. You guys have some great pizza too. Bearno's and BJ's come to mind.

Bearno's is good, but it just doesn't stand up to pizza at the New Albanian (http://www.newalbanian.com/grantline.html) in my opinion. Their deep dish holds its own against anything I've had in Chicago. And for you beer connoisseurs, they're rated the 12th best beer bar in the world in 2011 on ratebeer.com. Plus it's only 10 minutes from Seviren Lang, so it's definitely worth stopping at while you're here.

Also, will there be additional discs for sell? AND, any of Louisvillers interested in one of our BEAUTIFUL AEDGC bag tags???

Yes, we're getting a lot more CFR discs than we need for this tournament and they'll all be for sale. The more votes a disc got the more we're buying, less votes mean we aren't getting a lot. It's all first come first serve so don't be late or the disc you want could be gone. The list above is in order of popularity with the most popular at the top.

You are more than welcome to bring tags with you to sell.

The polls to vote on CFR discs close tomorrow. If you haven't voted yet you'd best do so now!

OPEN DIVISION

$50 ($25 fundraiser - $25 Cash Payout) - all open players will still get a CFR disc

The weather for Saturday looks good right now; mostly sunny, high in the upper 50's and zero chance of rain!

Remember, pros have the option to pay $50 ($25 of which will go towards payouts) and of course you'll still get a CFR disc.

Martin was out at Seviren today and despite all the rain he said the course is looking good. There's no more rain in the forecast so things are only going to get better.

Adam or Martin, I paid the entry for tomorrow but don't plan on playing, will one of you put me a cfr disc, or whatever it is, aside for me. Martin, pick something you think I'll like if you are there, if there is a choice.

Thanks

Left over disc will be sold for $16 and they are split up between a few people. Adam will post who has what in the next few days. As memory serves we have Destroyers, Wraiths, Leopards, Sidewinders, Firebirds, and maybe a Boss all in champion glo. We also have glo KC Aviars and regular champion Makos.

Results are up. Thanks to all who came out to help support the CVO. http://www.pdga.com/tournament_results/65210

There were a couple aces out there yesterday. Billy got hole 16 during the tournament and Eric got hole 1 during warmups. Congrats guys!

Now that we've had the first sanctioned tournament out there we can finally stop guessing at what a 1000 rated round is. The numbers might be skewed a little since it was windy and there wasn't a big turnout, but at least we have an idea now. Shooting a 57 out there was rated 997!

We had some great rounds out there. Eric shot a blazing hot 54 the first round rated 1023. Robbie had a round rated 62 point above his rating. Will had a round rated 68 points above his rating. And Steve had a round rated 83 points better than his rating. Great shooting guys!
