I just heard them announce that Dave Greenwell had to drop out after 11 holes due to his neck problem, he was even par at the time. That's such a shame, I'm sorry he couldn't pull through.

Hole 18 is so sick. I've seen so many people with multiple OBs on that hole. Guys are laying up with 30 feet putts because it's so dangerous behind it.

I'm actually quite impressed with the video quality with this being their first year. Their camera has some issues going from lit areas to dark areas but overall it's good.

Nice 3 on 18 Scott! Hell of a 2nd shot coming in. What was the deal with the drive that was on the right on the OB line? The spotter looked like he called it OB but the way you all stood around it I don't know what was really going on.

Yeah, that was a nice 3 on hole 18 Scott, you made it look easy!

That lie must have been a real tough call if it took them that long to figure it out.

I think that was a 4.. but don't correct me. The reason I say that is because they had the OB descrepency forever before he took his 2nd shot.

yeah that was a 4 on 18. I play it for a 4. I've seen toooooooo many shots go ob on that tight hole to risk it. It's really a course that I pick my battles on.
I got an 8 on a hole today without going ob (hole 5)

I feel like I played fine with the exception of several ob strokes that i took.

so the web coverage is good?

Yeah, there's only a few holes they're giving coverage on but overall it's very good. Decent commentary too, they have a good grasp on all the players coming through with a little background on each one. They made mention of you being Greenwell's protege when you came in on 18. :p

Hopefully next year they'll have it set up so you can choose certain holes to watch (like the PGA does) and have a live scoreboard too. For us watching at home there's just no way to see what holes are getting everybody. I'm pleased with what they are offering though.

I just tuned in and Dave's doing some of the announcing. Did I miss much?

mrjoshd
10-08-2009, 02:57 PM
Nope, he just picked up about 15 minutes ago. I think somebody tripped over a cable because it was nothing for a good 10 minutes.

Kris Orrick just finished up and Will Schusterick teed off but that's about it. There was a guy with a 9 on 3 but I don't remember who it was.

Anybody know if the Japanese fellow is throwing 150s or not? Just curious.

Adam

No idea what the Japanese are throwing.

It's too bad he had to DNF, but Dave's doing a great job announcing.

Have they always played the buncr rule here or is that something new this year?

Buncr was started last year. Most players
think it's bunk.

The Japanese guys throw 150 class. At least
they did last year. Watching Manibu last year crush
150 T-Birds was amazing. It was during practice
and he was just throwing them a mile. Straight
as an arrow as well.

This coverage is great.

You players should definately attend the USDGC.
I went last year for the first time and had a blast. Tons
of fun.

Go get em Scott.

Check out how bad somebody got ate up on 17. He even laid up to throw from the short area. What would happen if you were to empty your bag on the tee? Are you allowed to go pick up your discs. If I was to empty my bag I wouldn't walk back, I'd just walk straight into the water.

Yeah there was one guy who had to walk down and gather his disc and go back up to retee.

Was watching around 4ish pm yesterday and they ran a scoring update. As Scotts score come by Greenwell gave him props as a good up and coming player from Louisville. Congrats to the plug to both Scott and the ville. Dave should do the commentary on a regular basis.

had my bogey-free holes (nothing worse than a par) streak end today at the USDGC.
32 holes in a row. then 2 in a row. actually i went 8,5.

1 more round. extremely tough competition down here.

You're still really hanging in there though which speaks volumes at that course. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say we're all very proud to have you representing us out there. Keep it up Scott!
