View Full Version : How do you play this lie?

I was playing CV on Tuesday and my upshot on 16 ended up in the middle of the culvert. As far as I know, that ditch is not OB. So do you play it from in the culvert where it lies, where it went in, or can you take the "meter of relief" and shoot from the bridge over the spot?

A. When the disc is released, a player must:
(1) Have at least one supporting point that is in contact with the playing surface on the line of play and within 30 centimeters directly behind the marker disc.
So basicly you have about a foot behind your lie.

If you were to take a meter, I believe you would have to declare an unplayable lie and take a stroke penalty. Correct?

Thanks. I was pretty sure it needed to be played where it was, but the guys I was playing with disagreed.
