ill take that challenge!i want the #1 you can have my #5!

02-11-2008, 02:08 PM
Or a 4 way if I show up with #9! Thats if you want to slide backwards.

02-11-2008, 02:39 PM
how many strokes do you want nate?

02-11-2008, 02:50 PM
What do you usually shot? I figured 4 over for me. (i.e.) If you say 4 down I want 9 or if you say 5 down I want 10. Your the pro, you should be able to challenge yourself and me at the same time, right??????

What the crap is "Plastic Captain" talking about?????? :D

02-11-2008, 10:02 PM
I'm usually in the 52-53 range at CV in normal conditions. So are you saying you shoot +4 as in 58?

02-11-2008, 11:02 PM
Yeah, great day 54--normal day 58--bad day 108  !!!!

02-11-2008, 11:17 PM
Same thing I was thinking about Scott????? A little scared to lose #1 you think?????

What do you usually shot Sparrow?

02-12-2008, 11:22 AM
I challenge Scott Rief for the #1 tag...I can be at IQ or CV this saturday early in the day, as of now.

02-12-2008, 08:33 PM
scott, you know we have already set up the thursday showdown. I shall get the #1 tag. Should have had it last weekend. Enjoy that tag for a few more days, then it's mine..........sucka :x

02-13-2008, 09:42 AM
Won't be playing in the snow on Thursday. If its not snowy I'll be there.

02-13-2008, 10:31 AM
Bad conditions engrain bad habits and form, and can lead to injuries. Its good to know how to throw in the wind, rain, but leave snow to the Ice Bowlers, I'm trying to practice for the Memorial in 3 weeks.

02-13-2008, 01:45 PM
6. Play continues in all weather except for lightning, which voids the round and the challenge. All other DNF rounds, including injury, results in that player forfeiting their tag to the opponent if the opponentís tags is higher

There is nothing in the refusal list about weather.

My thought would be that everyone that said that they would be there would have a shot at #1.

I was wrong Scott, #1 has to defend once every 14 days. I'm not for sure if you travel 2 weeks at a time.

Everyone have fun tomorrow in the cold, wet, slushy, muddy, windy tournament. :D

02-13-2008, 02:16 PM
 i was really only kidding about the snow, if safety is an issue surely we can be reasonable. ill wait for my chance @ #1 but i will play tomorrow

02-13-2008, 03:01 PM
i was getting 50ft slides on the ice/snow today

02-26-2008, 09:50 PM
Is anyone down for a group challenge this weekend maybe Sparrow and Mick would like to do another one this weekend at CV, maybe #1 BOF could join in on the action. I would be willing to make it a little later in the day since
most people can't handle our dawn tee off on sundays. :fiddle:

02-27-2008, 07:03 AM
I'm coming out to CV Thursday around 4 if anyone is up for some bag tag action.

I have your tag so I'll be there. Bring that Champion T-Rex and we will work something out.

I can be at CV by 3. I have to go to work at 5 that morning. May not be part of the challenge but will play.

I will be there by 3 so call when you get there. I'll give you some CTP tips!!!!

02-27-2008, 08:15 AM
I may be able to get there by three.

02-27-2008, 08:54 AM
how about 11 or 12 on saturday at CV? Looks like it's gonna be it the 50s.

02-27-2008, 08:57 AM
Sparrow, if you want a one on one, try to get to cv around 1 on thursday. After that, we can have a group challenge with Jeremy and Jason around three

02-27-2008, 09:12 AM
i'll be there 3 on Thursday - gonna have this putting part of the game worked out by then -

I'll be working until noon and then I have a party at 3:00. Saturday's no good for me. I hope to get out to the PBL Sunday though.

02-27-2008, 10:25 AM
It looks like 3:30 for me tomorrow. I got a meeting scheduled for me at 2 that will last until 3. It will take me a couple of minutes to shut down my desk and get there.

02-27-2008, 04:06 PM

02-27-2008, 04:21 PM
I'm trying to talk my bro into playing Thurs. for his #2 tag. He has to work near CV and might be able to make it. We'll see.

Can I join Sparrow and Billy????? I have #7 so you guys won't fall to far back!!!!

02-27-2008, 04:21 PM
Billy will be there he says. Unless he chickhens out.

02-27-2008, 04:35 PM
looking for some tags to pass around - a new winner for tag #1 better not be hightailing out of there - course billy is what was it, BOF, so i think tag #1 may still be in his hands by 3:00ish
sparrow will have to find fly south fast if he thinks he wont be defending that tag before its clipped to his bag

02-27-2008, 04:51 PM

I can see Sparrow flying south for a few weeks if he was to upset Billy!!!! :D I will be there following the scores closely. Don't even think about hightailing it out of there Sparrow if luck is on your side!!!! :nono: :nono:

02-27-2008, 04:55 PM
Sparrow, got your message. Me and you are set for 1:00 thursday. I'm going to lunch with my Mom, so it will be close. After that, even if I win or lose, I will play the 3:00ish group challenge also. If there is 6 or more people for this group challenge, I vote that we split into two groups. I'm not down with 6 pack (or more) golf.

02-27-2008, 06:10 PM
anybody going to play sun. i will be avaliable somtime earlier that day

02-27-2008, 08:59 PM
I hear ya, Billy. I think I may be able to make the 3 o' clock session with the #9 tag. I'm not challenging any one person, but will accept anyone who wants some 8-) . If it's a multi-group challenge that comes about (cause I don't wanna play with more than 4 people in one group), I want at least one person to have a lower tag than myself though. All depends how soon my better half comes home from work. :Please:

02-28-2008, 07:04 AM
For those who show today at 3, we can flip disc for doubles. Then work out strokes based on teams??????????? Or put the top to bottom tags together and work out strokes(ie--put 1 and 4 together, 7 and 9 together, 11 and 17 together). What do you guys think.

02-28-2008, 07:11 AM
We can match up teams based on who's there.

02-28-2008, 07:21 AM
It looks like I am a solid 3:30 pm show time. I couldn't get out of my meeting to get there any earlier. If you guys can wait I would appreciate it. If not, I will see you there.

I will probably be throwing my 150 stuff so look out. :Ahhhh:

What about singles? That way we can just give strokes without worrying about picking matching teams.

02-28-2008, 07:30 AM
Sounds like there is going to be 6-7 people playing so singles could get confusing. Plus it would take forever to figure out strokes.

02-28-2008, 07:41 AM
It will be closer to 3:30 for me too. :bang:

02-28-2008, 07:55 AM
Everybody give me 20 and we'll be good. I think the lowest singles score I have ever shot there was a 78 or 79.

02-28-2008, 10:06 AM
I'm not down with doubles. I want the fate of numero uno in my hands. It's not hard to figure out strokes. We would still have to figure out strokes anyway with groups. I say we divide into two groups though.
Save the dubs for fatpad :D

02-28-2008, 02:57 PM
Don't wait for me. Its 3 and I'm still at home waiting to get out the door. :(

02-28-2008, 04:33 PM
Billy do you still want to hook up saturday or sunday does anyone else want to do a group challenge on either of these days?

02-28-2008, 06:45 PM
yeah, I'm down for sat or sun. I will know more tomm

02-28-2008, 06:50 PM
First of all, congratulations to Nate for getting the number one tag. Feels good doesn't it? If only I could have made one more putt it still would have been mine
That was one heck of a group challenge, 9 people showed up. I shot a 56, Jason has the rest of the scores. My new tag is number 6 :(

02-28-2008, 09:49 PM
Nate, I just may see you at the PBL sunday...I'm taking that #1 B-EEE-ATCH

02-29-2008, 12:36 AM
I can play Saturday around 2ish if I can get my tag from Nate by then. Any takers on #20?

02-29-2008, 09:24 AM
Your actually #21 now Eric.

I hope the #1 tag and the ace pool draw some strangers out to PBL. After teams are drawn we can work out strokes.

And YES, It does feel good to hold the #1 tag if only for a few days. :D :D :D :D :weee: :weee: :weee: :weee:

Sorry, but I won't be able to play again until PBL. Got husband and fatherly duties!!!!

02-29-2008, 10:49 AM

No I think it is Dave Thomas. The Wendy's guy, right?

03-01-2008, 02:57 PM
I'd like to join yall, but would probably have to tee closer to 8:30. If you run a lil early, I still have #9 to get rid of.

03-01-2008, 05:52 PM

03-01-2008, 06:40 PM

03-03-2008, 03:41 PM
windy, warm, fantastic day for disc golfin (course just about everyday is good for disc golfin)
adam, sam, billy, and i played two rds at CV this morning - crazy windy - first round we all shot double digits, but billy maintained control - round 2 we stayed pretty close, i came away though with tag #3 shooting a 59 _ putted just short for a 3 on 18, almost _ sam held on for tag 12, billy took 15 and adam clung on to 18 - tough playin today - blowing green ready now though

03-03-2008, 06:59 PM
definitely heavy duty winds today. The course ate me up

03-03-2008, 08:51 PM

03-06-2008, 02:20 PM
Played Russ today for tags. He now has tag #9 and I have #23. I shot a lousy 63 and he shot a 60. The way the weather is going to turn, I'm glad I got out. Looks to be nasty for days to come. Hope everyone else got out to play somewhere. It was an excellent day for some golf!

03-07-2008, 06:38 AM
anybody down for sunday morning at daybreak dont care where was thinking of going to radcliff

03-07-2008, 12:42 PM
We had a 7 people in a group challenge at IQ on Thurs. Had the top 4 tags show(SWEET). Everyone exchanged tags after one round, several CTP's, and long drive contest. After everything was said and done I came out #1.
Score for the round: Nate 49, Jerry 51, Jeremy 47, Ryan 57, Paul 50, Martin 50, and Sammy 57. Nate, Paul, Jerry, and Sam played even. Jeremy and Martin gave us 3 strokes. Jeremy and Martin gave Ryan 8 strokes. Nate, Paul, Jerry, and Sam gave Ryan 5 strokes. Check The Taggers post for final tag placement.

03-07-2008, 03:09 PM
Larry you will have to get your tag back from Russ. You guys were more than 10 spots from one another. So many rules easy to forget a couple! :D

03-07-2008, 04:37 PM
You can only challenge 10 numbers ahead of your tag number unless you are part of a group challenge.
(i.e. 11 can challenge 1 but 25 can not challenge 7)

If Larry made the challenge - he was challenging spots "behind" not ahead, i think this should be okay.

If any rule was broken it was that unfortunantly Russ has yet to recieve his tag #23, but I would think as long as Larry was okay with the prospect of losing to a tag that is not in hand - this should slide also.

03-07-2008, 05:06 PM
I agree. I was talking about that Sunday. It doesn't say we can't challenge backwards.

03-07-2008, 05:39 PM
I made it clear for that reason the I was the one challenging Russ, not vice versa. Theres plenty of room for this FOR-FUN bag tag ho down. People shouldn't be so up-tight about certain aspects. I want a chance to play ANYBODY that has a tag when I'm out for a casual round. From what I see, I don't know how its gonna matter who has number 1 at any given time. I'm assuming that everyone should be keeping track of their rounds so there can be some type of handicapping system for the final tournament. Even then, unless its bracketed like Martin and I talked about, having #1 will not help your final score or assure you a prize. I'm still wondering about the outcome of all this and how a winner will be determined. Regardless, I'm having fun with these challenges, and getting to keep the dollars I would normally wager.

03-07-2008, 06:29 PM
Yeah this bag tag has saved me a lot of cash.

I have been having fun. I am sure this first year will
be a learning experience.

03-07-2008, 10:52 PM
i think if everyone spent as much thought and effort in finding sponsorship or taking care of our courses and planning new ones, as has been spent bending and finding loop holes in a set of rules for this long term event Louisville would be on the map for more A tier and better events! i dont think challenging backwards makes any sense as well as someone buying a tag #30 playing with 3 players under 10 and leaving with the lowest tag. whats the point of working your way up so that some one can get in at the last minute and win it all? it doesn't seem fair to those whom have been in it from the start. oh and waz up with ed does he have a tag or not? lets just get rid of the rules. lets just battle for #1 and pay out the top 5 @ zglo no end of the year tourney!

03-08-2008, 07:31 AM
I like the idea of being able to challenge someone with a higher numbered tag. If I have #1 I want to prove that I SHOULD have number one by competing against anyone avalible. Regardless of what number they have. I'm not going to bicker or waste any time and energy over it but that just my opinion. I really don't care that much either way.

Pay the top 5 at the ZGLO...that's a tough one. No where in the rules does it state that we HAVE to give strokes in the challenges. The top five tags would be in limbo with...the top five players. It's would limit who could actually get their hands on the tag.

Don't get me wrong, I'll always give strokes, and always play fair but this stuff can happen.

03-08-2008, 08:20 AM
i agree with jeremy i want to be able to challenge higher tags sometimes i like to challenge myself and i would not be fair at the z glo with no strokes. we need to keep going and get handicaps to let everyone have a a shot at winning this thing. i dont mind giving strokes and dont want any strokes from anybody even dave. thats just me but i know it wouldnt be fair for others ive been giving 8 strokes at cv. thats almost 1/2 stroke per hole. i have to make up a storke every other hole to win tough huh. but that makes it fair and i can push myself more, that way i dont have a four stoke lead after 5 holes and get bored. i think giving stokes makes it better. so lets get keep the handicapping going it will work. and ill accept all challenges if the lower tag chooses to play than there should not be a rule telling me i cant do what i want, this is a free country i agree rules are good but made to be modified and adjusted as you go. i usally only play one day a week and dont get to see most people, so i want to be able to challenge who i want when i want. just my opion not trying to make anybody mad :Please: :Please:

03-08-2008, 12:43 PM
I will reply to Russ in his email because I am not for sure that he reads the message board.

The last statement on the rules is " These rules may be amended, as needed, by the LDGC Board in consultation with Jason VanOver." So, basically, if we want to make changes then we can make changes. My only early resistance to change was that we had not seen enough scenarios to make appropriate changes.

To me the weakness of the 10 spot challenge rule was that I allowed tags to change more than 10 spots in group challenges. I should have written that you couldn't have changed more than 10 spots. I thought that would cause confusion. The group challenges that I have been a part of, it has been confusing just doing handicaps.

2. You can only challenge 10 numbers ahead of your tag number unless you are part of a group challenge.
(i.e. 11 can challenge 1 but 25 can not challenge 7)

9. Group Challenges can also occur as follows:
a. 3 or more in one group, tags are redistributed at the end of round with the lowest score receiving the lowest tag number, the second lowest score receiving the 2nd lowest tag, and so forth.

About Larry and Russ' challenge: The rules are that you cannot challenge 10 ahead of you. The intent is that someone with a lower tag wouldn't challenge backwards. Why would someone with a low tag want to take the risk of losing it to a high tag?

I think going forward we should do a couple of things:
1. Look at the group challenge rules to see if we should bring them in line with the 10 tag rule.
2. Look at the individual challenge rules and see if we should eliminate the 10 tag rule.

Letís leave the tags as they are and going forward follow the rules how they are until they can be changed.

03-09-2008, 11:33 AM
This is a response to Russ' email:

The reason that I set it up that way, and the reason that other groups that I took most of the rules from set it up that way, was to keep the #1 tag from getting challenged everyday by everyone. If only #1 would get challenged then there would be no point in having tags 2 through 30. We would only need 1 tag. I actually extended it from challenging 5 to challenging 10. Most rules that I found on the internet was only 5 spots above. And the intent is to challenge forward not backward. So please people, do not challenge backward to get around the rule. I have now heard of several people doing this besides Larry and Russ. I am not opposed to rule changes but lets consider all scenarios before we make a change. We are not half way through March yet and we still have a lot of playing to do. We can discuss and get everyone's opinion and then make changes accordingly to what is needed. My opinion now is to get rid of group challenges and only do one-on-ones.

Looking back, I think the reason that I put in that a person could change more than 10 tags in group challenges is so that at the final tournament everyone has a shot. If not only the top 11 tags would show. That would be ok too but my whole purpose is to get everyone involved. Otherwise Steve Jones and myself would not have a chance against anyone else on the list and not play. There is obvious divisions of talent in the competition so getting everyone together to learn and progress as a player is my #1 priority. My #2 priority is for everyone to play and have fun. I will post this on the message board as well.

And I left out a response to Jeremy's post. At the bottom of the rules there is a statement about giving strokes. You do not have to but I put a blurb in there to where it would be fair to do so.

03-09-2008, 07:10 PM
my thing is i only play once a week i have two jobs two kids and a wife. i havent seen anyone with the 1 or 2 tags, so i just want to be able to play whoever it is that i might be throwing with at that time. it just gives me something else to play for. if i only see two taggers a week i want to play them if i have a higher or lower tag. its all about the fun. if its all open at the tourney anyway what does it matter who has what till then. what is it going to be at the tourney a free for all best score wins, or is every one going to have to figure out strokes. if you dont have to give them in the tourney than some might not, then youre right back at a problem i think strokes should be mandatory otherwise youll be playing dave in tourney straight up, good luck with that. i think rules are good but more time needs to be put into coming up with a fair handicaping system through averages, and since more people play c.v. the tourney should be there.

so - looking back at how this thread has distanced from actual challenges

played billy today for his tag 15 - got, defended it - mucky out there, went 25 holes in a row without a birdie, ouch

before leaving played larry for tag 9, 11 holes - we swapped tags

i thank you both for letting me borrow a putter - lots of great shots today and so many not so, gotta say how about the thrower who couldn't miss from 50 foot+ and out -

more mucky golf tomorrow afternoon

03-12-2008, 12:37 AM
I'm definitely down for some muckyness manana. But yeah, that guy who kept hittin the 50 plus footers, crazy. I wonder who he is??

03-12-2008, 09:04 PM
Paul, Jerry, and I played around at Muldraugh today. Paul had #12, I had #4, and Jerry had #2. I gave them both a three stroke handicap. Paul shot a -7 with his handicap, Jerry shot a -2 with his handicap, and I shot a -7. I now have #2, Paul has #4, and Jerry has #12.

03-13-2008, 10:29 AM
only 3 strokes? good job J if i dont win today youll be next on my golfdar  :bravo: :Birdman

03-13-2008, 02:10 PM
Paul and Jerry are both good golfers. They don't need more than 3 or 4 from me on a short course like Muldraugh.

03-14-2008, 07:22 AM
3-13-08 CV Sparrow#8 vs. Steve Jones#1.
One on One #8 going after #1
Sparrow gives Steve 17 strokes.
Both competetors find themselves in heated battle with the rough of CV, Sparrow throws some amazing shots to keep the tee pad for most of the round. Steve worried about making too many costly mistakes trys to play smart and not over throw. Steve's stratagy pays off for the first 11, Sparrow gets an unlucky rool after hitting the basket and rolling out of bounds on 11. Sparrow follows up the mistake with a 2 on 12. At this point Steve has 15 stokes to give from 12-18, he almost looses it on 16 with a 8 :bang: . In the end Sparrow beats Steve with a 64 and Steve a 73, but its not quite enough to cover the 17 stroke spread. Maybe 17 was to much to ask for, but what is done is done. The end result is that fun was had by both parties :weee: .
After the round Nate challenges Steve to a round SAT morning, Nate proposes that they use each others drive at IQ. Steve having never played like that before accepts. Nate wants 2-4 strokes because he believes he can reach most baskets from the tee's, Steve cannot reach but 3 baskets from the tee's. Steve agrees to 3 strokes to be given to Nate. One additional rule that should be included but was not mentioned is, If its raining Nate should have to ride his bike to the challenge  .

03-14-2008, 09:34 AM
squeezed in a couple holes yesterday before all the other challenges took place - played sparrow and larry for the front 11, gave sparrow 11 strokes and larry 2, no tag changes

then just before leaving nate with tag 3 showed up, offered the master of the ctp a ctp challenge or holes 1 & 2, played the holes, we switched tags -

lots of challenges after i left, nicest day at CV all week, finally started drying up and now its raining, oh well

03-14-2008, 12:07 PM
Ryan H, Sam S, Steve S, and Nate H played CV yesterday. Ryan got 10 strokes from all of us. Us three played even. Ryan shot a 65, Nate 56, Steve don't want me to mention what he shot, Sam quit to go watch UofL. No tags were exchanged.

Jeremy you shouldn't have helped Ryan!!!! I finally got my 3 on #16. Second throw was parked!!!! :weee:

03-14-2008, 01:06 PM
I challenged Sam for his #22 tag (I had #25) before the big group challenge. CTP to the lower practice basket. I threw a roc that I have now thrown a total of 3 times. I think Sam threw a stingray. I won and now am the proud holder of #22.

03-15-2008, 03:43 PM
Steve and I played IQ before the rain came through this morning. We mixed the routine up a bit. Steve took my drives and I took his. Steve gave me 3 strokes. He got to call a few re-throws and so did I. Steve shot 2 down and I shot 3 over. With the 3 strokes Steve gave me, he was able to hold on to the #1 tag. That is 2 title defenses for Steve!!!! :bravo:

Until PBL!!!!

03-15-2008, 10:00 PM

I know, that sucks. But who's gonna be at CV tomorrow tor the final PBL? I'll be there with tag #15. I'll play with no more than 5 tags in a challenge. Sort it out when we get there.

Martin (3), Dave(6), and me(11)

scores for the 3 rounds:

Martin: 56,58,58
Dave: 49.49,45
Scott: 54,50,45

I ended up with tag #3, Dave kept #6, and Martin took my #11. Strokes were given. Dave gave Martin between 3.5 and 5 strokes. Dave gave me between 1 and 2 stokes. I gave martin 2.5 strokes.

03-17-2008, 09:30 PM
Paul and I went to Bowling Green today. He had #4 and I had #5. We played three rounds. I gave him 3 strokes at Lover's Lane, 3 strokes and Kariakas, and 6 strokes at White.

I shot a 8 down at Lover's and he shot a 2 down with the handicap.

I shot a 1 down at Kariakas and he shot a 4 down with the handicap.

I shot a 3 down at White (only one four and NO OB) and he shot a 1 over with the handicap.

I now have #4 and he has #5.

03-17-2008, 09:34 PM
Wow, Jeremy. 3 down at white is the fo' shizzle. Nice :bravo: \

Now do that next weekend!

03-17-2008, 09:45 PM
Scott, I challenge you for number 3. Name the time and the place, sucka!

03-17-2008, 09:46 PM
i would love to win my tag back also - scott and dave both were on fire today by our 3rd round, great shooting

03-18-2008, 06:20 AM
Wow, Jeremy. 3 down at white is the fo' shizzle. Nice :bravo: \

Now do that next weekend!

That's what I'm hopin' for! I missed two birdie putts and took one four on old hole 18 (now hole 15). They re-numbered the whole course but the layout hasn't changed. Old hole 6 (now hole three), the LONG one down the hill with OB on each side, I was 40 feet out on that one. I think it's like 625' or something. :weee:

03-20-2008, 01:42 PM
My bro and I played IQ today for tags 1 and 7. I gave him 5 strokes. I shot 5 down and he had a rough day shooting 6 up.

If anyone is going to Evansville I'll put #1 on the line there. Josh Cummings and I will be there.

wicked stick
03-20-2008, 04:47 PM
Playing Nathan for tag #1 was a joke. :bang: I played my worst game ever at IQ. Fun anyways though. Played Adam Cummings this afternoon for tags. I had tag #7 and he had tag #10. Was tied on the last hole when I hit a 80' shot to give me a bird. I won the round but then we had a CTP and I also won that. So no tags where exchanged. Better luck next time Adam :fiddle:

03-20-2008, 05:05 PM
Martin, Sam, Billy and I went to BG and played 3 rounds. The first round Martin and I played at Keriakas. I gave Martin 3 strokes. He shot a 56 and I shot a 51, so I kept Tag #3, he kept his Tag #11. Billy and Sam played at Preston Miller, straight up, Sam shot a 58, Billy shot a 54. Billy kept Tag #9, Sam kept Tag #13.

Round 2 and 3 we all played together as a group challenge.

Round 2 was at Hobson. Scores: Billy: 50, Scott: 50, Martin: 59, Sam: 60. Strokes were given and I ended up with tag #9, Billy took the #3, Sam and Martin kept their tags.

Round 3 was at Lovers. Scores: Scott: 45, Martin: 53, Billy: 55, Sam: 57. Strokes were given. I got #3 tag back. Martin has #9, Billy has tag #11, Sam has #13 still.

To summarize... Total scores for 3 rounds are as follows....

Scott: 51, 50, 45 (-16 on the day)
Billy: 54, 50, 55 (-3 on the day)
Martin: 56, 59, 53 (+6 on the day)
Sam: 58, 60, 57 (+13 on the day)

Great times and great weather.

Yep the 45 was super hot. I don't think he missed a putt that last round.
Great round Scotty! It was fairly windy too

03-21-2008, 10:07 AM
That beats my 46 I shot Monday! :(

03-21-2008, 10:15 AM
missed hole 16 and 17, 2 of the easiest hole

03-21-2008, 10:22 AM
missed hole 16 and 17, 2 of the easiest hole

Me too! I missed #18 too!

I had a STUPID four! #15! I grip locked it and hit one of the first possible little sapplings landing me about 60 feet off the tee. Then threw forty feet past the pin on my second shot. I duced #1 and almost duced #13 though!

I threw a Firebird and a Max a LOT due to the wind!

03-21-2008, 10:40 AM
got #1 as well. threw the EXCALIBER. amazing disc, faster and more overstable than the DESTROYER!!!!! should be legal any day now... got one from Steve Wisecup in Arizona 2 weeks ago. Instant 30' of distance added.

03-21-2008, 10:48 AM
I've been wanting to try one of those. I'm surprised Dave hasn't had any yet.

03-21-2008, 02:40 PM
Jerry #12 challenged me #5 at Thursday night leagues last night. There were no tag exchanges.

03-21-2008, 09:45 PM

03-21-2008, 09:49 PM
There was a group challenge at CV today between tags 8,9,20,and 26.Took a bad mental blow today in the gusty winds at Chucks house. Scores were like this:

Russ 60
Martin 67
Sparrow 71
Larry 71

Then tags were distributed like this, after strokes were given:
Russ #8 :weee:
Sparrow #9
Martin #20 :bang:
Larry #26

03-23-2008, 11:31 AM
Had a challenge today with Russ at CV. He shot 61 I shot 55 and gave him 5 strokes. I now have tag #8 he has #14.

03-24-2008, 07:18 AM
Josh C, Adam C, and I played Evansville tourney this weekend for tags. I gave them both 10 strokes a piece. I beat Josh by 9 and Adam by 13. Josh took #1 for a brief second, but he gave it back to me. So I'm still #1, Josh #10, and Adam #25.

03-24-2008, 09:36 PM
Paul (#5) and I (#4) had a challenge today at Freeman Lake. I gave Paul five strokes. I shot a 51 with a double bogey and he shot a 55. He now has #4 and I have #5.

03-24-2008, 10:55 PM

03-31-2008, 04:02 PM
got #3 from scott he took #9 65 to 67 he gave me 9 stokes

03-31-2008, 04:47 PM
The xcaliber is not faster than the destroyer it is the same disc with no turn says so on the flight chart, every thing is the same including speed. the only difference is it will be a little more stable how does this add instant 30 ft?
No disc is going to make you throw farther in fact these types of discs make me throw my arm out. Stick with what fits your arm.

I'll be impresed with innova as soon as it starts catering to the rest of us who can't throw 600ft. We are the majority of golfers weres our instant distance. I want to see a disc that actually adds distance to your drive without having to have a sandstrom arm to be able to take advantage of it.

03-31-2008, 06:39 PM
Its not for everyone. It added distance over the Destroyer for me for sure, and everyone else I've talked to that has thrown it.
Its not a disc for the slower arm though for sure.

03-31-2008, 07:42 PM
I would say it added 30 foot to my drive. It was my primary driver at White and Phil Moore.

03-31-2008, 07:59 PM
i got added distance that i didn't want - threw ob holes 1, 2, 3, and 5 at white - disc did more then i expected -
destroyer through goes just as far, just not in the headwind - my current predicament is with a excalibur do i need a teerex anymore - surely no need for a max

03-31-2008, 08:02 PM
I think the Max is still a bit meaner. I have a use for both in the wind. That's a great point about the Tee-Rex though. I didn't throw one all weekend. There's getting to be a LOT of the same disc!

03-31-2008, 08:11 PM
i watched it fly today, and it seemed as fast as my destroyer but when my destroyer went straight, it went left. its domey too. i havent thrown it yet, but i want one.

03-31-2008, 09:00 PM
I just don't believe that a disc that is exactly the same as the destroyer but more stable can add distance, if anything it would be the same or less because the stability would kill some of the glide. How do you tell it has added more D so quickly, you can't throw a disc a few times and say this definetly added more D to my game. there is not enough comparison. People would be suprised if they read innovas flight characteristic chart all of the distance drivers are close together as far as differences in flight. for instance the starfire is the same thing as an orc except it has more fade thats it and not much more fade at that. Call me a skeptic

03-31-2008, 09:13 PM
i think the harder, and faster, we throw disc, the power, and speed nartualy make us throw with anhizer. so meaner disc fight to get further, and faster disc wont turn over as soon as slower :Birdman speed disc when speed and power are applied.

03-31-2008, 09:37 PM
How do you tell it has added more D so quickly, you can't throw a disc a few times and say this definetly added more D to my game.
I threw two Destroyers and two Xcalibers on hole 3 (old hole 6) at White. I threw them on the exact same route and attempted to throw both as hard as I could in practice. The two Xcalibers were 30 to 50 feet further than the Destroyers. Oh... and all four were in bounds!

04-02-2008, 08:34 AM
scott and i played two rounds at lebanon yesterday - i was granted some strokes but managed not to need them - shot my first 54 on the course - scott shot a 55 next round little higher scores something like 58, 59?
passed tags: martin #9, Scott #13

threw the excalibur little better yesterday - can't say i was getting 30+ feet over my destroyer - but wow the disc goes far - nearly threw ob with both discs from the long 18 into the posted ob that stretches across the fairway

oh yeah in BG over the weekend sam, billy, and I had a challenge at Preston Miller - Billy took #11, Martin #13, Sam #20

04-02-2008, 01:26 PM
Hey Jeremy,

Are we going to exchange tags from the BG Ams? Because I am getting sick of this #19 tag.

04-02-2008, 02:00 PM
We should just do a group challenge with everyone involved. I think some people have had challenges already since BG. If you can come out Thursday Night I'll give it to you and then challenge you for it in leagues. Otter Creek is so wierd to play after four rounds in BG.

04-02-2008, 04:26 PM
I was challenged by russ at cv yesterday to the front 11. no strokes given. russ was +3. I was +1. I am now #23 and russ is #26. by the way. I was using the "force" and it seamed to add distance instantly. deuced hole 2 when i used it and had a nice drive on 3 as well. I like it :D

04-03-2008, 12:59 AM
How about you just give me the #1 tag and we just call it a day Mr. Watts. I can't play but maybe a round about 12:30 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. But I can usually make it somewhere on the weekends. But you know that #1 already belongs to me.

04-06-2008, 07:37 PM
Steve Jones and I played Lebanon today. We played a casual round of 18 and then 9 holes for tags. We played straight up. He beat me by a stroke on the 18 but when it really counted I beat him by 2 on the 9.

I now have 15 and he has 22.

04-09-2008, 10:00 PM
Played Russ at the Fun Farm today, 20 holes, all long. No strokes given. I shot -1 to his +5. I still hold tag #20 :D Beautiful course out there, by the way. We agreed that the up and down elevation made for a more exhausting round than CV does. The Fun Farm is one place that is worth the $5 to play. Not to mention, it's not as far a drive as it sounds.

04-10-2008, 10:29 AM
So what tags were exchanged during leagues Monday?

04-10-2008, 04:15 PM
i got #5 - great putting Steve, and a sweet drive on 15

04-13-2008, 09:11 PM
Had a group bag tag challenge at the Bowling Green Open. It was Scott, me, and Mickey. Scott kept his tag and Mick and me switched. He now has 11 and I have 13.

04-14-2008, 08:57 AM
I actually took Mick's #2 tag at the BG open. Mick now has #11

04-14-2008, 09:08 PM

04-28-2008, 02:51 PM
Who has the bag tags for sale and where do I pick one up at?

04-28-2008, 05:22 PM
I have the majority of them - Jason VanOver 502-376-1265 - and I am usually will be at one of the league events each week unless they are cancelled. I have tag #'s 34 through 50

I have given some to Nate Hartlage who runs the Wednesday league. He has tag #'s 29, 31, 32, & 33. I gave him some incase I was not there on a Wednesday.

I also work on the East end of town and drive past CV everyday to get home. If you are ever at CV around 5:30 I can drop one off. I can also meet you anywhere between Westport Rd and 65 also. Let me know.

Cost is $15.

04-28-2008, 09:14 PM
Thanks Jason,

I work downtown and usually dont get out of work until 5:30 or some. I might try to make Iriquois this Wednesday and get one then. Do you also do the LDGC memberships or is that someone else. I noticed Sammy had the minis in but I didnt know if there was anything else with membership or not. Thanks for the info and I may give you a call this week to make arrangements should I not make it Wednesday.

04-28-2008, 09:30 PM
I think Sammy and Nate can both do memberships.

I may need to be corrected but I think membership is $10 and you get a membersip card and a mini.

04-28-2008, 09:43 PM

04-29-2008, 09:51 PM
got the #5 back from martin @ iq today i think we both shot 52 je gave me 4 strokes

04-30-2008, 07:02 PM
Scott R, Martin, Sam and I played doubles today. ( Scott & Sam vs Martin and I.) No strokes were given. We shot an -8 for the win. Scott and I exchanged tags, so I have #3 and Scott has #9. Martin and Sam did not exchange tags.

05-04-2008, 08:37 PM
A few group challenges today at CV.

In total it was Sammy, Martin, Steve Jones, Sparrow and myself. There was several rounds and several challenges but it ended up like this (I think):

Jason #5
Sparrow #13
Martin #15
Steve #18
Sammy kept his tag #23

I also shot my two best complete rounds there with a +19 the first round and +18 the second round.

Josh, Adam and I played a round at IQ. Josh has #29, Adam has #12, I still have #1. It was a tight match from start to finish ending with Josh at +1, Adam at -1, Ryan at -3. I gave Josh 2 strokes and the rest was none. I tagged chains on #12 to only have it fall out. Great round of golf.

06-16-2008, 06:42 PM

06-24-2008, 09:03 AM

I appreciate not having it stripped away because of my elbows thats nice commrodery between players and rules. I definetly still want to play the final bag tag tourney so thanx guys for the hospitality. I just recieved some type of cortizone or something injected into my elbow today at the Doc's office so I will need a few days more healing. I actually beat Scott, Billy and Martin. I won a free round of golf and the number one tag.

Scott and Martin played all white tees. Billy and I played all yellow. Both groups played the black on hole 14
and we both played the "ebony" on hole 7. That hole is just amazing. Do you know how to get to that hole? (the ebony or homey T-pad)

I hit all my putts inside the circle except for one. I only had one bad hole not a blow up hole just kind of bad.
I did take 6's on all the par fives but got three's on several of the par fours. Two classic disc golf birdies.

08-29-2008, 08:28 AM
No fill me in.........

7 is the first hole back out on 3 and 4's fairways am I correct? Than you cross the road again to go to 8 and 9.
So 7 is the one that you drive down the long trail and across the big metal bridge.

Yes. 7 and 4 share a fairway in a sort of way. If you look back into the top of the tree line
on 7's black tee pad you can see the ebony tee pad.

When finishing hole 6 which is a monster get on the cart path and go to the left instead of right.
If you go right you go right by hole 6's ball golf green.

Go left up the huge hill. You may think you are going the wrong way but when you see the grave yard
on the left stop and look right. You will see two small tees. Be careful up there. Make sure no ball golfers are teeing on
hole 4 or 7's black. If you don't hit the first gap on the ebony tee your disc is gone. I mean gone.

Take care and have fun.

I wondered what was up that path. I know exactly where you are talking about. I'll be sure and play that this time. Thanks Sam!!

08-29-2008, 05:01 PM
Good shooting Sam, Can you post the other tag numbers so I can update the list? What number did you start with? Thanks

yes, sammmy speaks the truth! I am now in possession of numero uno. Feels great to have it back again
shot a 57 at cv to get it. 2 down going into 16 and crumbled a bit for the 3 up. My game is definitely on the up and up though

09-03-2008, 05:56 AM
Thanks Sam!

09-03-2008, 12:05 PM
Is that from one of the pics I took or from a different course? It looks like the downhill at English.

09-04-2008, 06:42 AM
Thats the one you took. Wyatt took a few while we were there this past weekend, but Wyatt doesn't know how to click fast enough. All of the pics he took were while I still had the disc or after it was completely gone from the pic. Anyhow nice pic Jason!!

09-07-2008, 08:58 AM
Had a couple of changes yesterday.

I got #5 from Russ in the Nicholasville Open. He took #33 and Martin stayed at #28.
Played Shillito afterward where Martin got #5 and Wyatt got #28 with Russ staying at #33.
I think I could have retained the #5 for longer than a round, but I was playing Shillito for the first time so that's my own reasoning for losing it.

09-07-2008, 11:41 AM
had two challenges today for 1, at the great georgetown course. i know that course is easy but has a few fun holes. anyway ishot two 43's and brandon shot 43 44 so i keep 1 he has 7 next challenge sunday morn 7 am i was thinking radcliff

I will be at otter creek sometime tomorrow mid afternoon. Not positive what time, there are some variables. cell-500-9084 if anyone else plans on being there, call me.

09-13-2008, 08:42 PM
I have # 14. :weee:

09-13-2008, 08:59 PM
thinking about funfarm instead about 1030

09-14-2008, 07:45 AM
I would love to come to the Fun Farm or Otter Creek today or even to help on the bridge work........However I just saw on one of the local channels that Gas is going to be around the $5 mark today because of fears of running out of gas. Than I go to Snack and Crack,( I mean Pack) right up the street and there gas is $4.89 this morning. They must think we are stupid :?:
So screw the Gas companies I am BOYCOTTING :!: I have a perfectly good course :bravo: less than a mile from my home that I will be going to play. I just wish that the 2 of you and everyone else would do the same thing. Don't give these greedy buttholes another dollar until they lower the prices. We aren't going to run out of Gas :nono:

09-14-2008, 09:03 AM
great but cv ic 30 min. from my house so im driving no matter what

09-14-2008, 11:11 AM
of course you might be giving into the gas companies by letting the high prices keep you from driving - so fill up and lets use up the gas - so we can move towards some alternative fuels

09-22-2008, 07:29 AM
I left with 28 after the FLO........
Hated to see everyone else that had a tag leave before we could exchange them.........especially since I beat a few of you. I did place 6th in Advanced for once.
Looks like the only people we could find was.........
Adam H.....#32

The rest of you including those who "mysteriously" (you know who you are) didn't have there's with them should be ashamed :nono:
I'm upset to see that when some of you don't do well you can't stand to lose your GOLD.........so you just leave and play dumb....... :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:
I had to concede @ Radcliff due to my back and you better believe I went home with the last tag, after starting with #5.

09-22-2008, 01:32 PM
I ended up with #19 after we went and played at Otter Creek after Freeman Lake. Larry has #22.

09-22-2008, 03:31 PM
Russ, I forgot all about the tags after the tourney. The number 8 is yours and I intend to give it to you. i just got my power back 1 hour ago and had no way to contact you. I never actually agreed to bet my tag for that tourney but it is rightfully yours. You kicked my butt (for once). I will try to be at cv sometime wednesday. I will call you. peace

09-22-2008, 04:55 PM
I know you didn't agree but I thought that putting your tags on the line was a given? It's not as big a deal as the 3 who just conviently forgot there BAG TAGS. The excuse was "well we don't carry those with us". In otherwords they think they are called HOME TAGS or something. I'm sorry if I sound p.o.'d but I kinda am. The bag tags were supposed to be a Gentalmans agreement and obviously some of the taggers aren't that. Don;t worry about it, I was just trying to make a point. Besides Larry would actually get your tag not me, we tied and I had the lower tag to start with. Larry and Wyatt and I are cool with the way it is now.

09-22-2008, 06:12 PM
hey russ i think you would have got my tag i had #4 -

now bad for me i continued my trend of play and and passed my tag onto Sparrow

So I have #9 its yours or Larry's since he could take lower tag between billy and myself

09-22-2008, 08:10 PM

that's cool. I will give Larry mine. It reality it doesn't really matter what tag we have because there is no benefit to having a lower tag going into the "bag tag end of the year tourney". i guess there are bragging rights but in the end, all that matters is how you do in the end of the year tourney. I think next year, there should be prizes for the top 5 or so going into the tourney, to make it more important to have a low tag.

09-22-2008, 08:56 PM
We're going to have to do plastic or other prizes other than cash for the top tags if we give prizes for top 5 and tournament winners. Tags cost $5 each to purchase and print and if we do a combined club fee and tag fee for $15 or $20 there will not be much money for the top 5 tags. We could do that instead of a tournament. We could set a date and whoever has the tags at that time would win. But what would keep those players from not playing the last week or so? That is why I thought a tournament would work. It was actually Martin's idea the first month or so we started playing. It's the same way with college basketball. You don't get anything for being good thruoghout the season except for a better ranking going into the conference and championship tournament.

09-22-2008, 09:42 PM
Hey all,

Since I can't play much anymore due to health, can I sell mine back to the club? Or, do I just turn it in? It's #3...

09-23-2008, 07:44 AM
I could have made this all a lot easier on myself..........Sorry we all know I have trouble getting my point across........So here is my point..........

This is a direct quote from the rules.....
"Tournament/League Play
During tournament play, all participating players who play from the same tees to the same baskets will automatically be involved in a multi-opponent match. Note that head-to-head play on the same scorecard may not be accommodated in tournament play. The lowest score at the end of the tournament gets the lowest tag; the highest score the highest tag regardless of the difference between tag numbers at the start of the tournament."

So there you have it folks, a rule is a rule.........

By the way I would like to Thank Martin for living up to his end of the bargain, I now have #9 Martin has #28 :bravo:

09-24-2008, 09:06 PM
I may have to give up my tag as well due to health. Playing english just about killed me. I felt pain free before the round having had another cortizone injection ten days prior. I'm in Physical Therapy for now and can only throw 50 foot upshots says the doc. :fiddle:

09-24-2008, 09:18 PM
Hey all,

Since I can't play much anymore due to health, can I sell mine back to the club? Or, do I just turn it in? It's #3...

Well? Beuler? Beuler? Anybody?

09-25-2008, 12:00 AM
I guess it's my call....hmmm.

I think a lot of people would like to have that #3 tag at the end of the year as a souvineer. My first thought was that it is a fund raiser of sorts for the club and the rest of the money besides the cost of the tag goes towards prizes. To that point I would ask that you trade it for the highest tag not yet sold which I think is 36. But given that it is a health issue and not that you don't want to play anymore I can completely understand and I would be happy to give you your money back. Less $2 for the fund raiser.

09-25-2008, 07:29 AM
It's not that I don't want to play anymore...

Just let me know the details, etc.

I have number 5 now.

Thanks, Sam. Just be glad you're not my wife...she hears about it, oh, 15 out of the 16 hours I'm with her in a day...

I'm hoping it's a temporary thing, but my docs aren't so hopeful. Unfortunately, it's not just DG, it's any physical activity. Yick. But, I'm trying to stay positive. :|

Congrats on getting #5! That's great!

09-26-2008, 06:28 AM
I wouldn't sweat it Daniel, we all know your situation. We also know that if you could you would be out as much as I am if not more. Just work on getting rid of your illness. You golf game will always be there, it's like riding a bike you won't forget. Hope you can shake this and I will keep you in my prayers.

That was bad of me, but I couldn't resist the urge. You totally set me up for that one :weee: :weee:

10-03-2008, 04:54 PM
Russ I challenge you to a match at IQ. Even though I have tendinitus in my left elbow I'll still play you left handed with minis  You can have strokes if you want them  just kidding

10-04-2008, 05:18 AM
I'm flattered.......Somebody challenged me  .
No, Brandon the only way I'll play you is if you throw forehand with your left hand :weee: .
Seriously though let me know when and I'm down for it. Is your arm going to be OK though. If it's not I don't want you to screw it up worse. Besides I think I have #28 now, not that good of a tag :bang:

10-07-2008, 07:28 PM
Well I think I should get rid of this tag since I'm probably not playing anymore this season. I don't want any money back. I will play you for it maybe this saturday or sunday, left handed w/minis just for some out of the house fun. You kill me with the blunt truth in your messages  If anything I'll need strokes but will never take em. My elbows suck :fiddle: I do think PT will help in time along with a fancy expensive!!! new brace, having health insurance is nice.
