Does anybody have a golden question like...
How are you doing it?
Who are you talking to?
What does it take?
Why the urgency?
When are you going to reach your goal of ten courses in ten years?
Where is a good spot for a course?

i have a question. will you move to louisville and help us here?

I would love to move to Louisville. It is one of my favorite cities, so maybe!!!

Evansville, IN is a nice place to visit. A discgolf course would be a wonderful additon to their "Visitor's Guide Book" of places to go and see. This quite rivertown has plenty of space for an awesome course in the middle of town, near there college.
This is a good idea. Hi-Five's to whom who made this suggestion 8) .

they have two courses in Evansville, one at the University of Southern Indiana, and the other at Mesker Park...
Mesker Park is an awesome course... check it out.

yes Ben, I must ask... why the urgency?
10-04-2007, 01:04 AM
Honestly Scott, urgency needs to be created for there to be anything done. Without a sense of urgency people will slack. I like to compare it to standing dominos. The first one has to be pushed for the rest of them to fall in a row. sometimes the next domino doesn't fall. so what then give up and quit? Hell no! Urge the next domino to move on!!
Believe me people, if you can create a sense of urgency about anything you want accomplished, it will only be a matter of time before it will happen. If you want more courses then find a way to make it an urgent priority. I do it by telling the board of directors stories of success and about new courses. I also tell them they can write some history by bringing nice courses to their area. Time will tell how many courses we will be a part of, but I can tell you that our club goal of 10 new courses in ten years seems to be an urgent priority on most of our minds. Maybe the LDGC needs to have a goal session so people know the direction of the club.
Well Scotty sorry for the long note!
:) Got to go!

Scales Lake will be a proud home for a new golf course. It has everything to make a great course. It is located in Boonville,IN. We still have some work to do, but it is very promising.
Also wish me luck on wowing the Dubois Co. Parks board. I will be meeting them at a site of thier choice tommorow.
Burdette is going to be a wooded mofo! I cant wait to smash my discs on some trees there too!...lol

Patoka!! oh yes, speaking of it Benny, give me a shout when you get a chance. Just got back from WV, wanted to know if you went to the Dubois County Parks Board this morning..
Also, I talked to Tom Riley from Patoka, he is super positive about getting this done asap!! they are clearing the obvious trees and brush right now as we speak...
10-09-2007, 11:56 PM
Nice to hear!!
some of those trees are obvious...lol
now only thousands more that need to be gone!
Dubois co. asked us back for the next meeting to go over the finer details.
but a general agreence was in the room, now just the commissioners stand in front of that project in the form of mula.
Hope you had fun river rafting!

That spot will be awesome, but we still have to get it past the board.
I think they already have a spot in mind, like the dam side.
We'll see! :)

yeah those boards/county commisoners, always the toughest part to get by, oh well, hopefully they will see the benefits it will bring to the community.. good work down there.. I may go there during work today and drive around and check it out, it looks like a nice park.
